With Phase 1 of MLB All-Star Game voting coming to a close this Thursday, the Chicago Cubs still find themselves heavily represented in the latest voting update.
Unsurprisingly, there have been no changes at the top of the voting leaderboard, as Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani both hold commanding leads in their respective leagues, with Judge leading all players with 2,699,483 votes.
Judge is one of five players to surpass the two million vote threshold, joined by the likes of Ohtani, Freddie Freeman, Will Smith and Pete Crow-Armstrong, who leads all NL outfielders with 2,005,630 votes.
Pete Crow-Armstrong, Kyle Tucker among Cubs starters leading NL All-Star vote
Like last week, joining PCA in the projected starting outfield is teammate Kyle Tucker, who has been no slouch with the bat by any means. Tucker occupies the last starting position as he sits third in outfield voting with 1,219,886 votes.
Also represented in the outfield is Ian Happ. After a stellar weekend which saw him pass Kris Bryant on the all-time Cubs home run leaderboard, Happ currently stands in twelfth on the NL outfield list.
Moving into the infield, Michael Busch and Nico Hoerner are each in third place at first and second base, respectively, while Matt Shaw and Dansby Swanson each hold fifth place at third and shortstop.
Carson Kelly holds a comfortable lead in second place amongst NL catchers, leading J.T. Realmuto by almost 300,000 votes. Despite significantly cooling off from his early-season success, he should be a lock to advance to the next stage of voting.
Lastly, Seiya Suzuki sits in third amongst NL designated hitters, narrowly beating out an old friend in Kyle Schwarber. Suzuki was once as high as second, but the recent acquisition of Rafael Devers by the San Francisco Giants bumped him down a place.
Phase 1 of voting comes to a close at 11 a.m. CT on Thursday, where the top two vote-getters at each position (top six for outfield) advancing to Phase 2. Final voting closes on July 2, with starters being announced later that night.
