The Chicago Cubs have turned their attention to creating competition for their bench, signing veteran Chas McCormick and former St. Louis Cardinals first-round pick Dylan Carlson to compete for the role of being the team's fourth outfielder. Chances are one of the two will win the job, with Kevin Alcantara starting the season in Triple-A to allow him to have regular plate appearances.

Carlson has already reported to the Cubs' Spring Training facility in Arizona. The 27-year-old outfielder has been spotted shagging balls in the outfield and meeting his new teammates. In doing so, he may have leaked the Cubs' 2026 spring training hat.

Dylan Carlson may have just provided Chicago Cubs fans with a glimpse of the 2026 spring training hat.

Spring training hats are always a bit of a niche piece of memorabilia. Sure, it's an easy way for teams and Major League Baseball to make money, but it can create an opportunity for fans to rock a different hat than the one the team wears during the regular season.

In recent years, the Cubs have used the sky blue look for their spring training caps, and it would seem that 2026 will be no different. The hat that Carlson is rocking has the Cubs' logo on the front, to go with a blooming cactus off to the side. The New Era logo is on one side of the hat, with the other side featuring another cactus with "26" and the MLB logo in the center of it.

For most of spring training, Cubs fans will need to rely on photos like these to see not only what the Cubs players are wearing, but how they are performing. Unlike past seasons since the Marquee Sports Network debuted, there won't be many spring training games televised this time around. The expectation is that only a single-digit number of spring training games will be available on Marquee this year.

Of course, the important note is that the Cubs are in the Cactus League, so the hats in the Grapefruit League likely will have a different look to them. It stands to reason that the design will be similar, with the only difference being a grapefruit replacing the cactus.
