A crown for Pete Crow-Armstrong
Let's start the chatter now--can Pete Crow-Armstrong ascend to platinum glove status and be crowned as the best defender in the league in 2025? His advanced stats already put him amongst the top defenders in the entire MLB but the exuberant outfielder wasn't even named a Gold Glove finalist in 2024.
He'll be flanked once again by two previous Gold Glovers in his second full season, creating an outfield that could be one of the more dominant defensively that we've seen in recent memory. Often times a narrative is needed to help win fielding awards- things like a breakout season offensively or powering a division winner can help. For Christmas this year, let's gift Crow-Armstrong the narrative that the Cubs are rolling out potentially the best defensive outfield of the last two decades and he is the linchpin in the middle of it.
