3 Cubs players who deserve All-Star votes if they stay on track

The Chicago Cubs have several players worthy of a spot in the 2025 All-Star game in Atlanta. Here are three of those players and why they are deserving of a spot.

When looking at the gauntlet of a schedule that the Chicago Cubs were up against in the month of April, it was easy for most fans to lower the bar and hope for Chicago to limp out of the month with a .500 or worse record.

The players said not so fast and even if the club drops its final three games of the month, they would still come out of April being three games over .500 and have one of the easiest remaining schedules in the league.

The overachieving has been in part due to a combination of happenings and players, but there are a select few players who have stood out above the rest. Here are three Cubs players who should receive All-Star game votes if their excellence keeps up.

Kyle Tucker - RF

This one should feel pretty self-explanatory to most. Tucker has been everything Cub fans had hoped for and more. He has been the superstar caliber player that Chicago has needed since the great years of Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo and Javier Baez.

Tucker ranks inside the Top 10 across the league in on-base percentage (T-10), slugging percentage (sixth), OPS (sixth), RBIs (fourth), and runs scored (second). His defense has been a bit shaky, but the offensive numbers speak for themselves.

Tucker will have competition for the starting right field spot in the All-Star Game as both Fernando Tatis Jr. and Corbin Carroll are having excellent seasons with right field as their primary positions. Whether or not he earns the starting nod, Tucker is well deserving of a plethora of votes.

Pete Crow-Armstrong- CF

Another Cubs outfielder has found his way onto the list, and much like Tucker, it is indeed for good reason. After a slow start to the year, Crow-Armstrong has since looked like the electric, five-tool player that he was said to be when the Cubs acquired him from the New York Mets back in 2021.

Crow-Armstrong has appeared in every game for Chicago so far this season and boasts a .284 batting average with five home runs, nine doubles, 22 runs scored, and an MLB-best 12 stolen bases.

Not only has he turned into a star at the plate, PCA is widely regarded as one of, if not the best defensive centerfielder in all of baseball. Crow-Armstrong had the best Defensive Runs Above Average (DEF), per FanGraphs, at 14.1, and he is currently tied for first with six outs above average (OAA) in 2025.

With no surplus of competition at the position in the NL, the Cubs centerfielder is in a prime position to earn his first career starting nod at the All-Star game.

Michael Busch - 1B

Busch has been another major reason for Chicago's early season success and his continued defensive improvements at first base have turned him into one of the game's best first basemen.

He is currently hitting .295 with five home runs and an OPS of .954 in 88 at-bats. Busch's -0.3 outs above average are not an accurate representation of his continued good work defensively at first base.

Busch will have to compete for votes with the likes of Freddie Freeman and Matt Olson, meaning it is unlikely that he will earn the starting nod. There is a good chance that he will be selected (rightfully) as a reserve and make his first All-Star game appearance.
