Gabriel Jaramillo, RHP – Myrtle Beach Pelicans (Low-A)

Keeping with the trend on relievers, Gabriel Jaramillo presents an exciting option down the line for the Cubs. Signed out of Venezuela in 2018, Jaramillo is 22 years old and has put together a quietly strong 2021 campaign for Myrtle Beach.

Jaramillo’s last season was in 2018, in the Dominican Summer League. As a 19-year-old, he posted a 4.91 ERA in a brief four-game stint. This year, Jaramillo has pitched in 17 games. In 33 2/3 innings, the right-hander is holding down a 1.60 ERA with a 32 percent strikeout rate. The month of July was a scoreless endeavor for Jaramillo as he threw 10 2/3 innings of shutout baseball.
