Following an insane July for the Class-A South Bend Cubs, the clubs number four prospect is on his way to Class-A Advanced Myrtle Beach for a much-deserved promotion.

Brailyn Marquez is only 20 years old, although with how he has been performing over the past month you would never be able to tell. Pitching last season between Short Season Eugene and Class-A South Bend, Marquez finish with a 3.13 ERA.

His 2019 campaign overall has been solid. Marquez is carrying a 3.65 ERA over his first 17 starts and has seen his overall game become stronger since last year. He is striking out opposing hitters at a 30.7% clip, and while his walks are up, Marquez has done an excellent job in limiting home runs.

Now, Marquez is one step closer to fulfilling his major league dream. The month of July was perfect for the young left-hander. Pitching like someone playing MLB The Show on rookie mode, Marquez completed his month with a 1.65 ERA across five starts and will hope to continue his dominance at the next level.
