Chicago Cubs: Winning without a complete lineup

Heyward is still one of the best right-fielders in the game. This season, he’s played center and right, and his numbers aren’t as good in center. He doesn’t qualify at either position as of now. But he’s currently the third-rated right fielder in the National League, per Fangraphs. He should end up qualified as a right-fielder, maybe not in center. But he’s best when slotted in right field.

These two are helping will the Cubs to wins, especially with some of the questionable lineups Joe Maddon has put out as of late. Partly due to injury, but there’s no excuse to hame Martin Maldonado, Albert Almora and Addison Russell (h/t to Jacob Misener on this) in the same lineup. Might as well throw in Daniel Descalso.

Next. Is this the Cubs' 2020 wishlist?. dark

The second half should be exciting in the NL Central, and so far, it has been for the Chicago Cubs. Let’s hope these two keep it up so we can stop talking about wasted money, and possibly talk about how the Cubs are set up for a playoff push.
