Cubs Rumors: Does a trade go down?
Any time Cubs rumors abound there exists a multitude of discussion in other various aspects of team makeup. For instance, the Diamondbacks currently sit 1 1/2 games out of the National League Wild Card race, so this could only be smoke from the team.
Peralta is currently making $7 million this year with Arizona, and that would theoretically increase next season which is why they could look to move the 31-year-old outfielder. At his peak, this guy is one of the best left fielders in the game and speaking strictly on the Cubs making a deal for him. He could provide the left-handed pop the team sought when they signed outfielder Carlos Gonzalez last month.

Betting on the chances, I would say the likelihood of Epstein and company making a deal for Peralta is not very high. He could spell an excellent short-term add, assuming he is healthy and could bring production off the bench in a tight race for the division. Only time will tell what Diamondbacks General Manager Mike Hazen will decide to do moving forward.
