Chicago Cubs win 100 games, and the World Series
A late-season implosion cost the club the division last season, losing it to the Milwaukee Brewers on the final day of the season.
It was an unfortunate way to finish the regular season for a team which dealt with much adversity throughout the year, yet still managed to win 95 games.
This year there is already tons of optimism with the return of a seemingly healthy Darvish as well as Bryant who displayed the performance of his power in his first spring at-bat. Mix in the impressive spring from Contreras, and this offense is bound to do some damage.
While closer Brandon Morrow will miss the start of the regular season, the bullpen has been impressive in its own right and can hopefully carry that into the season. A healthy Darvish is already a massive boon for the club and will only help them to improve.
Dealing with as much as the Cubs dealt with in 2018, its a wonder they finished with 95 wins, honestly. Due to a breakout year from many players on the Brewers, and the late collapse much can be said about the resulting finish.
This season, the Cubs will return to complete form, not only winning 100 games but bring the Central crown back to where it rightfully belongs and climbs the ladder back to the top for their second world championship in the last four years.
