Vaughn turned into an unbelievable talent for the Cubs. Spending nine total seasons pitching on the Northside, Vaughn made the city of Chicago his home. Concerning the talent level in franchise history, Vaughn remains the best left-handed pitcher the Cubs have ever seen. Unfortunately, his career did not span the length of some of the other greats such as Warren Spahn, Sandy Koufax, and Carl Hubbell and Vaughn never received a single vote for Cooperstown.
