Chicago Cubs: Leadoff hitter du jour, Kris Bryant’s shoulder chip

The Chicago Cubs Joe Maddon sees good things from several potential candidates for the leadoff spot. But it looks like he may go day-by-day, lineup to lineup.

Since Dexter Fowler left the Chicago Cubs, the leadoff spot has lacked a consistent presence. Joe Maddon has tried installing a few different players, each with less than remarkable results. Last season, he mixed it up for most of the year, using half the roster out of the leadoff role. The best success came from Anthony Rizzo, who by definition isn’t a leadoff hitter, but don’t tell Rizzo that. Will this year be more of the same? It’s more questions to answer before we get to the season opener.

Kris Bryant has been the Golden Spikes winner (college), Rookie of the Year and the MVP. But after a shoulder injury slowed him last year, he somehow–fell out of favor? It seems preposterous, but it’s true. But that has done nothing but motivate Bryant to prove everyone wrong. And my guess is, without any further injuries? He’s going to in a big way. Having a bad year is one thing. Getting tossed in to trade talks after an injury, that’s not going to sit well with any player.

With the final season of Game of Thrones incoming, we’ve got some crossover bobbleheads that are must-haves for Cubs’ fans. From Clark sitting on the iron throne to the Night King and Ice Dragon with Cubs inspired pieces, they’re bound to make any Cubs/GoT fans silly with excitement. Spring is coming. And it comes with these awesome bobbleheads.
