Chicago Cubs: Fans too big of a threat for the Milwaukee fan base

Milwaukee Brewers are finding Chicago Cubs fans too intimidating?  It looks like fans will have to resort to buying the tickets in Wisconsin gas stations again.

On February 13, 2019, the Brewers opened a pre-sale on tickets for this season and took an unusual approach. As many of us know, Chicago Cubs fans have one of the largest fan bases in baseball and travel very well. With the intimidation from the team itself and the strong fan base, the Brewers felt the need to have a sale for Wisconsin residents only for all of the Cubs series in the 2019 season.

This will raise a lot of questions whether this is a petty move or not. Or this might show a lack of class from an organization who has recently become relevant again in the last two years.

Naturally, the Cubs were dominant in attendance last year, and that is without having any weather protection at Wrigley Field. This shows that there is a far superior fan base among these two given the fact that sitting in 30-degree weather does not affect the beloved Cubbies fans.

If anything, this should give the Cubs a chip on their shoulder and a boost in confidence knowing that an organization is doing anything for an advantage over 10 away games this upcoming season. And don’t forget, the Brewers won the division last season–by virtue of a one-game tiebreaker. But they are still being petty about allowing Cubs fans to get tickets. That doesn’t show much confidence for the defending Central champions.

With the rivalry building up among the teams in the NL Central, this is poised to be a very interesting 2019 season with the St. Louis Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds making significant moves this offseason. This will prove to be a challenge, but since the Cubs will have full-season of Yu Darvish, Cole Hamels, and Kris Bryant, the team is looking to have a similar year to our previous, relatively successful seasons.
