The Chicago Cubs finally have secured their new television deal. Are there still more questions to answer? And can Yu Darvish save his reputation in 2019?

The Chicago Cubs and the Sinclair Broadcast Group have signed a deal to launch the Marquee Sports Network in 2020. This deal will officially be the end for WGN when the MSN starts in 2020. It’s been a long time that many of us have been watching the Cubs on WGN. It’ll be a sad day when it comes. But so many other questions precede that. Will the radio team of Pat Hughes and Ron Coomer have any role? Can people outside of Chicago get the network? Will Ryan Dempster get a ‘real’ show to talk about how boring St. Louis is with his guests? Time will tell.

Last year was a complete loss for the Cubs Yu Darvish. His injuries allowed him to throw just 40 innings–and very few of them any good. But Darvish got to camp early this season. He’s been throwing off the mound. He’s looked sharp. He’s gained a few miles per hour on his fastball. So the question? Can he salvage his reputation–and contract–by pitching well this year? Or has he been unfairly written off by Cubs fans?

It seems that Alex Patt has a second sense about him. The Cubs have indeed added another piece (More on that later today), but it might not be the last. The Cubs have been all about pitching this winter, as Xavier Cedeno was the newest addition. But Spring Training is just getting underway, and there’s still time to add another.
