The Chicago Cubs released a list of non-roster invitees to big league camp. Spring Training is almost here and there are some guys to keep an eye on.
Early February is a tense time for baseball fans, so close to spring training but still a few weeks away from game-action. The Chicago Cubs have their 40-man roster in place, barring any other moves and have released their non-roster invitees to 2019 camp.
Non-roster invitees include some players from the pipeline and others brought in on minor league deals. Fourteen of them are pitchers, five infielders, five outfielders and three catchers. A number of these guys will be playing for a chance to make the Opening Day roster and there are a number of them who already boast a decent amount of MLB service time.
There are obviously guys on the list that not many people have heard of, but there are several intriguing guys on this list that many do know. Here are some of the non-roster invitees to keep an eye on this spring.
