At this point, Fowler has become a bit of a cult figure in Chicago. Dex was acquired by the Cubs before the 2015 season for Luis Valbuena and Dan Straily. He went on to have the two of the best seasons of his career with the Cubs.

But, the legend that is Theo Epstein said not so fast, as Fowler showed up at Cubs’ Spring Training last March, having resigned on a one-year deal with a mutual option. Fowler cemented himself at the top of the order and was a catalyst of sorts for the offense #YouGoWeGo.
After the Cubs won the World Series, Fowler went to St. Louis on a five-yearear deal worth $82.5 million. Like clockwork, Fowler has been his consistent self, despite not batting lead off any more, and despite some injuries this year. Cubs fans still love him, despite his team now, and they always will.
