We continue our ‘where are they now’ series this week. In this take, we look at three polarizing figures in Chicago Cubs history. Some are good, some are bad – but all of them have their place in North Side lore.

In recent years – both before and during last year’s World Series run, there have been some controversial Chicago Cubs players.

One of the former franchise cornerstones, Starlin Castro, has blossomed in the Bronx. But, for years, he struggled with mental focus while showing flashes of brilliance, as well. He came this close to bringing a title to the North Side, but fell short in his final campaign.

Meanwhile, one of his teammates, perhaps better known for his bow-and-arrow antics, continues to pave his way through a lengthy big-league career.

Last, but not least, one of the biggest pieces on last year’s club, Aroldis Chapman, comes to mind. Prior to arriving in Chicago, he faced accusations and a suspension stemming from a domestic violence issue. Though he helped carry the team to a title, more than a few fans had major issues with his past.
