The Chicago Cubs continue to be a much better team at home and hope it will help turn things around when they hit the road. The Cubs won their fourth straight with a victory over the Marlins.

Don’t look now, but the Chicago Cubs are back in first place in the NL Central. In such a tight division that can happen. But with the Cubs win over the Miami Marlins–their fourth straight–coupled with a Brewers loss, they moved back into a tie for the top spot.

The Cubs used home runs from Kris Bryant and Albert Almora to beat the Marlins, 3-1 on Monday night. With the wind blowing in, Bryant cut right through it with his two-run home run in the first inning. Eddie Butler pitched his best game of the season, allowing just four hits and one run over 5 2/3 innings. Almora would tack on a solo shot in the sixth as the Cubs would go on to win their fourth straight and their 11th win in their last 13 home games.

The recent series against the St. Louis Cardinals had a different feel to it. Unlike many of the other games this year where the Cubs got down early and couldn’t recover, these games were different. Maybe it was because it what the Cards. Or maybe the Cubs are starting to turn the proverbial corner and play like we expected them to. However you look at it, this series felt more like 2016 in the way the Cubs played.
