Using only music to describe the Chicago Cubs spring, what would you pick? We took a stab at it for something a little bit different. And Ian Happ and Eloy Jimenez continue to impress in their spring performances, even knowing there’s nowhere to play in Chicago.
Our Corey Francis is a big music guy, loves the Chicago Cubs and Buzzfeed quizzes. You know the ones. Answer 10 questions and we’ll tell what song you are? That inspired him to describe some of what has gone on in the Cubs camp with songs. Check out his selections, and let us know what you think in the comments!
The Cubs rallied in the eighth inning to beat the Colorado Rockies Saturday afternoon in Mesa. They used the long ball to get it done, three in total. Kyle Schwarber hit his first of the spring, but it was the young guys that came up big. Eloy Jimenez went yard first, then two batters later, Happ gave the Cubs the lead with a two-run home run. These two might not be ready–yet–but they’re gaining a lot of attention.
While those two might be a ways off, there are other prospects that could have an impact this season. They might not be as highly rated as Happ and Jimenez, but they each could be a contributor before the 2017 season is over.
