Chicago Cubs: More names added to spring invite list

The Chicago Cubs added a few more names to the roster. Brace yourself, Spring Training is coming.

With Spring Training upon us, the Chicago Cubs have added a few more names to the roster as we prepare to get baseball activities underway. The most notable addition is Matt Murton, who many Cubs’ fans were excited to see back in the organization. Once a fan favorite, Murton enjoyed a solid career over in Japan and hopes he can carry that success back in the majors. Pitchers and catchers report Feb. 19 and position players on Feb. 23.

ESPN’s Keith Law released his top ten prospects for the Cubs and Josh Timmers over at Bleed Cubbie Blue took a look at the list. There aren’t  many on the fringe of making it to Chicago in 2016, as this is a list of breakout stars more likely destined for next season. But the organizational depth is still there, and the future is still very bright.

Expectations are high for the Cubs, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t questions. Where will Kyle Schwarber play? Will Jake Arrieta hold up after throwing a career-high number of innings?
