I’ve got this, no worries

Even with Maddon choosing to go to the bullpen earlier and often, Arrieta has been somewhat immune to that. He’s tied for the NL lead in complete games (3) and shutouts (2), with one being a no-hitter. He’s gone into the eight six times this season and has never allowed more than five hits in any of those contests.

The bullpen for the Cubs has been good this year, with a few hiccups along the way as every team has. But Arrieta is conditioned as well as any other player in the game. It’s rare to see him come out before the seventh, and if he does it’s rarely because he’s laboring but more a Maddon decision. But as of late, the Maddon decision is to let Jake go and do his thing.

Seems to be working out just fine.
