After returning following a long hiatus, the video game RBI Baseball returns in 2015, and this year they are joining other sports titles by adding a “face” to their cover. That face is the Chicago Cubs Anthony Rizzo. With so much hype surrounding this years Cubs, they apparently decided to join in by naming Rizzo as the cover athlete. This was THE baseball game on NES. Believe me, firsthand experience. But while it no longer can match MLB The Show, it’s a fun throwback game to jump into.
The former NL Rookie of the Year had a “return to form” last season for the Cubs, but where does Chris Coghlan stand with this years team? With the depth the Cubs have in the outfield, Coghlan is likely to see platoon duty in left with Chris Denorfia. But if he can continue last years success, he will be another great find for the Chicago at a low-cost.
The Pirates’ Vance Worley had a breakout season, helping the Pirates to the playoffs. Now, days after Neil Walker failed to win his arbitration case, Worley has done just that. He was awarded $2.45 million by an independent arbitrator, topping the $2 million offered by the Pirates.
The Detroit Tigers got some good news, as Victor Martinez only needed to have his left meniscus repaired and not replaced, which will keep him out only four to six weeks. If replaced, it’s likely the slugger would have been out till the All-Star break.
