Chicago Cubs look for another win against Milwaukee

Following last night’s 3-0 win over the Milwaukee Brewers, the Chicago Cubs will turn to left-hander Tsuyoshi Wada in Wednesday’s matchup in hopes of making it two in a row against the division-leading Brew Crew.

Chicago (51-67) was led by its pitching in Tuesday night’s win, as right-hander Kyle Hendricks tossed seven-plus shutout frames and Pedro Strop induced an inning-ending double play in the eighth, quashing any hopes of a rally for the visiting club. Ricky Renteria will turn to the southpaw Wada in tonight’s matchup, hoping to guarantee a series split at home.

Wada (1-1, 3.25 ERA) was handed a no-decision in his last start which came in an extra-inning loss at home to the Tampa Bay Rays. He tossed six innings, allowing just two runs and striking out six – further evidence of the talent he showcased for much of the season with Triple-A Iowa. Wednesday will be his sixth start of the season for Chicago.

He will be opposed by veteran right-hander Kyle Lohse (11-6, 3.33 ERA) – who is 2-0 in a pair of starts against the Cubs this season.

Tonight’s game will be on CSN Chicago and over the radio waves at 720 AM WGN. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m. CT.
