The Chicago Cubs failed to provide much support for Kyle Hendricks in his last outing, hopefully they can do more for Tsuyoshi Wada and help him pick up his first MLB victory.
The Cubs (42-61) scuffled after winning the opener against St. Louis. In the midst of a ten-game homestand, they hope to see some better results with Wada (0-1, 5.00) on the mound. He was impressive in his debut, allowing only a run to the Reds, but the nerves showed a bit in his last outing, allowing five runs over four-plus innings.
The Colorado Rockies (43-61) will throw all left-handed starters against the Cubs in this series, starting with Yohan Flande (0-2, 7.20), who is also in search of his first big league win.
With four lefties slated, manager Rick Renteria is bound to match-up differently each game, but the switch-hitting Emilio Bonifacio has returned, as well as the ability to play Arismendy Alcantara, also a switch-hitter.
The game is scheduled for a 7:05 pm CT first pitch. It will be carried on CSN, and broadcast on WGN 720 AM.
