6/4 Morning Marquee: Cubs leaving WGN Radio, Singleton makes debut

The Chicago Cubs tied the game in the eighth then Nate Schierholtz hit a walk-off single for a 2-1 win over the Mets Tuesday night. News leaked shortly after the game the Cubs will part ways with WGN Radio and have games on WBBM-AM next year.

Prior to the game, the Cubs put catcher Welington Castillo on the disabled list and called up Eli Whiteside from Iowa. They also designated former closer Jose Veras for assignment and activated Hector Rondon from paternity leave in a corresponding roster move.

Around the league: Brandon Workman was suspended in six games for intentionally hitting a Red Sox batter, Astros’ prospect Jon Singleton homered in his MLB debut and Angels’ Mike Trout exited the game with a back injury, a fan fell into the Brewers’ bullpen and was carried off on a stretcher.
