Edwin Jackson will try for the Cubs first road series win since last September and will be opposed by Tim Lincecum and the Giants in a rubber match on Wednesday afternoon at AT&T Park.

Jackson (3-4, 4.94 ERA) was knocked a round in last start against the Padres with eight runs on nine hits. Prior to that outing, Jackson struck out 11 and only allowed four hits against the Brewers.

Today’s Cubs’ lineup is a combined 18-for-74 against Lincecum (4-3, 4.55 ERA) with Starlin Castro a career 7-for-19 against right-hander. Lincecum is coming off back-to-back six inning starts.

Mike Olt will start at third base and back-up catcher John Baker will call the pitches for Jackson while Chris Coghlan will man left field. It will be Olt’s first appearance against Lincecum. Giants’ back-up catcher Hector Sanchez will also get the nod today in favor of resting All-Star Buster Posey.
