The Chicago Cubs will have Jake Arrieta take the mound to try earn a series victory when the Cubs face off against Tim Hudson and the Giants on Tuesday night at AT&T Park.
Arrieta (1-0, 2.33 ERA) is coming off a strong start against the Padres when he struck out seven, walked one, and allowed just four hits over six innings. In four starts, Arrieta has only give up more than one run.
Hudson (4-2, 2.13 ERA) signed with the Giants after he suffered an ankle injury that looked to end his career. The 37-year-old’s last appearance against the Cubs on April 7, 2013 where he struck out seven and walked two in a 4-2 win.
Justin Ruggiano will make his first start since April 23 when he hit his first home run and injured his hamstring. It will also be his first start since his return from the disabled list.
