Hall of Famer Fergie Jenkins to represent Cubs at ’14 Draft

Chicago Cubs Hall of Famer Fergie Jenkins will represent his club at the Major League Baseball’s First-Year Player Draft on June 5.

The 2014 Draft will take place on June 5-7, beginning with the Draft preview show on MLB.com and MLB Network on Thursday, June 5, at 5 p.m. CT. Live Draft coverage from MLB Network’s Studio 42 begins at 6 p.m. CT, with the top 74 picks being streamed on MLB.com and broadcast on MLB Network. MLB.com’s exclusive coverage of the second and third days will begin with a live Draft show at 11:30 a.m. CT on June 6.MLB.com’s coverage includes Draft Central, the Top 100 Draft Prospects list and Draft Tracker, a live interactive application that includes a searchable database of Draft-eligible players. Jenkins, 71, won 20 games in six straight seasons for the Cubs and pitched 10 seasons for the club from 1966-73 and 1982-83. He posted a 167-132 record with a 3.20 ERA for the Cubs. He also played for the Phillies, Rangers, and Red Sox during his 19-year career that totaled 284 wins and a 3.34 ERA.
