Edwin Jackson shown he is deserving of his contract with an 11 strikeout, shutout performance in a 3-0 Chicago Cubs win against the Brewers Saturday.

In minor league action, the Cubs got their second no-hitter this season when Kane County Cougars’ Tyler Skulina and Nathan Dorris combined for a no-no against Quad Cities River Bandits (Astros).

Around the league: former Cardinals manager Tony LaRussa joined the Diamondbacks’ front office, Rangers’ first baseman Prince Fielder‘s consecutive game streak ended due to a neck injury, the Diamondbacks’ chased Dodgers’ ace Clayton Kershaw for a 18-7 win, the Yankees hit 5 home runs to route the Pirates.
