The Chicago Cubs and the Chicago White Sox will open up their four-game, home-and-home series Monday night at Wrigley. The Cubs (11-18) will send Jeff Samardzija (0-3, 1.98) to the mound, look to end his winless streak which dates back to August of last season. Samarzdija leads the team in ERA, and has posted five quality starts this season but is still looking for his first win.
The White Sox (15-17) will send Jose Quintana (1-2, 4.00) to the hill. It will be Quintana’s second start versus the Cubs, but his first at Wrigley Field.
The Cubs are coming of their first series win of the season over the Cardinals, and have won three of the last four. The Cubs will be looking for Anthony Rizzo to keep up his hot hitting against lefties, something he struggled with last season. Rizzo is hitting .394 this season against left-handed pitching, with three of his home runs as well.
On the other side, the Cubs will get their first look at rookie sensation Jose Abreau. Abreau set Major League records for a rookie for the month of April in home runs (10) and RBIs (32).
The game will be on radio on WGN 720, and on television on CSN.
