Minor League Baseball announced a deal with CBS Sports Network to televise 15 games this season, including the Iowa Cubs vs Memphis Redbirds on May 29.
The May 29 matchup is a part of the ‘Game of the Week’ package and fifth game to be televised. The new series will begin on May 1 with the Indianapolis Indians (Pirates) vs Pawtucket Red Sox (Red Sox) at 7:05 p.m. ET.
Javier Baez and Arismendy Alcantara among others should still be on the roster for viewing. This I-Cubs team is one of the most prospect-heavy teams in history and this game will provide Cubs fans an opportunity to see the future.
Additionally, May 29 is a scheduled off-day for the Cubs, so fans will not have to choose between which team to watch. CBS Sports Network and MiLB have only announced the first five telecasts with the games for the remainder of the season to be announced.
The first five games of the schedule have been determined and are as follows:
May 1: Indianapolis Indians (Pirates) vs. Pawtucket Red Sox (Red Sox), 7:05 p.m. ET
May 8: Lehigh Valley IronPigs (Phillies) vs. Charlotte Knights (White Sox), 7:05 p.m. ET
May 15: Albuquerque Isotopes (Dodgers) vs. Fresno Grizzlies (Giants), 10:05 p.m. ET
May 22: Durham Bulls (Rays) vs. Columbus Clippers (Indians), 7:05 p.m. ET
May 29: Iowa Cubs (Cubs) vs. Memphis Redbirds (Cardinals), 8:05 p.m. ET
