The Chicago Cubs fell 7-2 to the Philadelphia Phillies in their home opener while three prospects ranked in the top 100 are injured.

Around the league, the Boston Red Sox received their World Series rings, the Cleveland Indians signed All-Star 2B Jason Kipnis to six-year extension, and Mashairo Tanaka made his major league debut across the boarder against the Toronto Blue Jays.
