The Chicago Cubs signed veteran right-hander Joel Pineiro to a minor league contract on Tuesday afternoon on their off day.

Around the league, Los Angeles Dodgers’ ace Clayton Kershaw will undergo rehab for two to three weeks while Washington Nationals’ catcher Wilson Ramos will have surgery on his left hand and miss four to eight weeks.
