The Chicago Cubs fell to the Los Angeles Angels 8-4 and tied 5-5 with the San Diego Padres in split-squad action on Tuesday. The Cubs No. 11 prospect, pitcher C.J. Edwards made his Catcus League debut against the Padres for a glimpse at what the future might hold for the North Siders on the mound.

Around the league, MLB is working toward a new PED deal that would increase suspensions, the Padres signed Jeff Franceour to minor league contract, and the Pittsburgh Pirates acquired right-hander Vance Worley from the Minnesota Twins.
