Charlie Blackmon hit a three-run, walk-off home run, Franklin Morales pitched four effective innings and the Colorado Rockies overcame Chicago Cubs starter Carlos Villanueva‘s eight strikeouts to beat the Chicago 9-6 Wednesday night.

The Cubs (10-13) took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning when Emilo Bonifacio walked, reached third on an error and scored on a fielder’s choice by Justin Ruggiano.

Rockies’ (10-10) Carlos Gonzalez hit a 3-run homer off Carlos Villanueva in the third for a 3-1 lead.

Darwin Barney hit a RBI double to center to score Bonifacio to pull the Cubs within 3-2 in the fifth. The Rockies regained a two-run lead in the bottom of the inning on a Jose Veras balk call.

Javier Baez hit a towering solo shot to center off Rob Schaill to cut the deficit to 5-3. It was his fifth home run of Spring. Luis Valbuena added his own solo shot in the ninth to start the Cubs three-run comeback.

The Cubs will return to Cubs Park on Thursday against the Seattle Mariners at 3:05 p.m. CST on CSN with right-hander Jeff Samardzija toeing the rubber against Erasmo Ramirez.
