Mike Olt continued his strong spring performance at the plate with two home runs and Javier Baez added one, but the Chicago Cubs fell to the Seattle Mariners 8-7 in the tenth inning on Wednesday night.

During the game, manager Ricky Renteria lost his first replay challenge. The Cubs have optioned Arismendy Alcantara, Logan Watkins, Jorge Soler, and Matt Szczur and Kris Bryant, Jeudy Valdez, Albert Almora, Carlos Pimentel, and Eric Jokish have been reassigned to minor-league camp while Aaron Cunningham was released.

Around the league; the Atlanta Braves signed injury-riddled pitcher Ervin Santana to a one-year deal worth $14 million, Former Cubs star Ryne Sandberg and current Philadelphia Phillies manager is sending a message to Jimmy Rollins, Matt Kemp played outfield for the first time this spring, and Milwakuee Brewers’ Ryan Braun signed an endorsement deal.
