Right-hander Jeff Samardzija (0-0, 5.40 ERA) will take the mound for the Chicago Cubs (5-6) this afternoon against the San Francisco Giants (7-4) in Cactus League action. First pitch is slated for 3:05 p.m. CT.
The Cubs are coming off an exciting win against the Brewers Sunday, and will look to make it back to the .500 mark with a win against a Giants team looking to rebound from a disappointing 2013 campaign.
San Francisco will counter with right-hander Matt Cain (1-0, 0.00 ERA) in today’s game, which will take place at Scottsdale Stadium and will be broadcast online at MLB.com.
Here are today’s starting lineups.
