After shutting down the Cincinnati Reds 9-0 on Saturday afternoon, the Chicago Cubs (4-7) will face off against another NL Central foe, the Milwaukee Brewers (6-5), at Cubs Park today in Mesa, Ariz. Hendricks will take the rubber starting at 3:05 CT.
The 24-year old right-hander Kyle Hendricks is coming fresh off his first spring start in which he gave up a hit, a run, and walked three batters in two innings. If Hendricks shows he is ready for the majors, there is a good chance the righty will be pitching in Chicago this summer. The Brew Crew will send another young starter in Tyler Thornburg to the bump in this one, looking for their seventh win of the spring.
The game today unfortunately will not be televised, but as usual it will be broadcasted on Cubs.com if you listen in to hear the beautiful sound of Javier Baez` bat.
The two teams will line up like this:
The Cubbies:
#Cubs lineup vs. MIL: Szczur LF, Valbuena 3B, Rizzo 1B, Ruggiano DH, Sweeney RF, Baez SS, Lake CF, Kottaras C, Barney 2B, Hendricks P
