The Chicago Cubs remained quite at the Winter Meetings while new manager Rick Renteria addressed the national media for the first time. Renteria appeared on MLB Network’s MLB Tonight program, where he discussed the possible Jeff Samardzija trade, Darwin Barney‘s lackluster offensive, Starlin Castro, and the pressure he faces as the Cubs skipper.
The Chicago White Sox were involved in a three-way trade with the Los Angeles Angels and Arizona Diamondbacks. Outfielder-first baseman Mark Trumbo goes to the Dbacks, pitcher Hector Santiago is moving from the White Sox to the Angels, outfielder Adam Eaton from Diamondbacks to Chicago, and left-hander Tyler Skaggs from Arizona to Los Angeles.
