Cubbies Crib: Morning Marquee 11/20
The Nippon Professional Baseball will reopen talks with Major League Baseball over a new bidding system for Japan by Tuesday after the MLB withdrew its proposal last week. Reopening talks is a good sign for the Chicago Cubs and other teams interested in the 24-game winner right-hander Masahiro Tanaka.
In free agency there were multiple signings late Tuesday night. San Diego signed pitcher Josh Johnson, Oakland signed infielder Nick Punto, Skip Schumaker signed with Cincinnati, and Cleveland signed outfielder David Murphy.
