Day two of the general manager meetings in Orlando, Fla. gets underway today. The Cubs officially confirmed their interest in Japanese pitcher Masahiro Tanaka as the Cubs will look for ‘quality’ pitching this off-season. Cubs’ top prospect Albert Almora yet again stole the show in the Arizona Fall League in a shutout victory.
Don Mattingly will stay with the Los Angeles Dodgers as manager and All-Star Joe Mauer will move from catcher to first base next season. The Atlanta Braves announced Monday morning they will leave Turner Field and move to the suburbs, Cobb County, after the 2016 season. Tampa Bay Rays’ Wil Myers and Miami Marlins Jose Fernandez were named rookies of the year as voted by the Baseball Writers Association of America.
