Theo Epstein and Cubs management held a town hall meeting for season-ticket holders this weekend and unveiled Wrigley Field’s 100th anniversary plans as well as plans for the future. Attendees saw videos of top prospects, the nearly completed new Spring Training facility and learned the Cubs will look for a new hitting coach. Epstein cited the Boston Red Sox ability to work deep counts in the World Series and how hitting coaches must emphasize this. Late Saturday night, news broke that James Rowson would leave the Cubs from the New York Yankees to take his former job as a minor league hitting coordinator. Cubs will now look for a new hitting coach and a first-base coach to replace Dave McKay, who joined the Arizona Diamondbacks in the same role this off-season.
