Brad Ausmus interviewed in Chicago yesterday for the Cubs’ vacant managerial job. Ausmus marks the sixth known candidate to interview for the job – joining Manny Acta, A.J. Hinch, Dave Martinez, Rick Renteria, and Eric Wedge. The Cubs are reportedly interested in Boston Red Sox bench coach Torey Lovullo but he has not been contacted yet.
The Cubs top prospects Jorge Soler, Kris Bryant, and Albert Almora take to the field in the Arizona Fall League “Fall Stars” Game tonight. All three have performed well in the AFL and will showcase their talent against other top prospects in the league on MLB Network tonight at 7 p.m. CT. Bryce Harper and Mike Trout played in the 2011 game, then went on to win Rookie of the Year Awards in 2012. Bryant is starting at third base and Soler in right field for the East.
