The Chicago Cubs now have four free agents: pitchers Scott Baker, Matt Guerrier and Kevin Gregg, and catcher Dioner Navarro. The Cubs have exclusive negotiating rights with the four until Monday, when Major League Baseball’s free agency open market begins. Theo Epstein, Cubs president of baseball operations, now turns his focus to interviewing Boston Red Sox bench coach Torey Lovullo. Epstein will likely wait until Monday, after the championship parade, to reach out to Lovullo for an interview.
