Reports came Friday that former Indians and Mariners manager Eric Wedge will interview for the Chicago Cubs’ skipper job next week. It seems now the Cubs are focused on three candidates: Wedge, San Diego Padres’ bench coach Rick Renteria, and Boston Red Sox bench coach Torey Lovullo. Renteria is the ‘clear-cut’ front runner while Wedge and Lovullo have yet to be interviewed.
The World Series spotlight shifts to St. Louis tonight. Jake Peavy will take the mound for the Boston Red Sox and Joe Kelly for the St. Louis Cardinals in Game 3.
