New Writer: Chris Schackmann

I’m sitting here watching the first half of the Cubs – Brewers doubleheader, and I think this might be a good time to introduce myself to you all.  My name’s Chris, and I’m the newest (one of the newest, anyway) staff writer here at Cubbies Crib.  After being on the Podcast I only thought it a logical step to have my own contributions here in writing as well.

I’m a third generation Cubs fan originally from downstate Illinois, near Champaign.  I lived in Chicago for a few years, but found the cold too much for me so now I currently make my home in San Diego where the weather is always just perfect for baseball.  I enjoy college football and soccer as well, but baseball is by far my first love.

I hope you enjoy what’s to come from me, as I very much look forward to writing for you! By the way, while I was writing this not only did Darwin Barney get a hit, but the Cubs took the lead here in game 1. Auspicious, don’t you think?
