Here is a look some notable dates to mark down, as the Chicago Cubs 2011 Schedule was released today.
April 1st- The Chicago Cubs will kickoff the season at home for the second time in nine years, and will be facing the Pittsburgh Pirates. This marks one of the first times that the MLB season will kickoff on a Friday for a weekend series, instead of the traditional Monday opener.
May 20th- For the first time since 1918, the Chicago Cubs will play a game at Fenway Park against the Boston Red Sox. The Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox played each other during the 2005 season at Wrigley Field.
Cross Town Cup: The Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox will first meet up on June 20th at U.S. Cellular series. And the Cross Town series will conclude on July 3rd at Wrigley Field.
June 17th- The New York Yankees will come to Wrigley Field for the first time since 2003. Who knows, the Yankees might see a familiar face in the Cubs dugout in Joe Girardi.
September 28th- Marks the last game of the regular season as the Cubs will hopefully be resting their starters for the playoffs as they conclude a 3 game series in San Diego against the Padres.
