While it is only spring training, and their is nothing really to get worried about during these games, you still do not want get beat 15-3, like the Cubs did today. It was doomed from the start as the Carlos Silva let up 3 runs in the first, and another 3 runs in the second. The Cubs offense was also non-existent throughout the game, as they really never were in the game.
Who Was Hot
- Ryan Theriot, and Kosuke Fukudome were just about the only offense the Cubs had today. As both men went 2-3 from the plate, with Kosuke driving in 2 runs.
- Carlos Marmol looked good in his one inning on the m0und, as he struck out two in the process.
Who Was Not
- Carlos Silva showed us all today, why many people consider him to be the worst pitcher in the majors. As he went two innings, giving up 6 runs on 7 hits, which two of those seven hits were home runs off the bat of Carlos Quentin. Silva definitely did not impress the Cubs today, and this may hurt his chances of getting a starting rotation spot.
- John Grabow went an inning and gave up 3 runs on 3 hits, one of which was a Home Run.
Injuries
- Backup Shortstop Andres Blanco was injured during today’s game, and will miss the next 7-10 days, suffering from a grade 2 sprained knee.
Next Up
- The Cubs will try for revenge against the Sox, as they take them on tomorrow at 3:05 PM.
