Cubs host the their Cross-Town Rivals today, in Arizona

The Cubs play host to their cross town rivals the Chicago White Sox, as they continue on with their cactus league schedule. And while it may not have the same magnitude as a regular season series between the two clubs, their are still some things to watch when the Cubs take the field today.

What To Watch For

  • We will be getting our first look at Carlos Silva, who was acquired in the Milton Bradley trade last December. This is a good opportunity to see where Silva is at physically, and if he is capable of winning a spot in the rotation.
  • Alfonso Soriano will also be making his cactus league debut today, as he will test his repaired knee out for the first time in game action. Soriano, has looked good so far in team drills, and is determined to have a bounce back year.
  • No word yet on the results of Angel Guzman’s MRI yesterday, so we may hear about that during the game. However, it does not look good as many reports suggest that he is going to need shoulder surgery and will miss the next several months.
