Nice Timing, Kid

Derrek Lee is out of the Cubs‘ line-up for Thursday’s make-up game against the White Sox, but it’s okay, he has a good excuse:

His wife just gave birth to their second child.

Derrek has to do the family thing right now, and I’m cool with that.  I just hope that, in future, any more Lee children that come along have a little more respect for the team and wait until an off-day, or better yet, the off-season.

He may be your daddy, but he’s our only good hitter.
