Ted Lilly‘s body has become a cornucopia of stuff that doesn’t work right, but thankfully he will only need to spend about three weeks on the DL – a testament to modern medicine if ever there was one.
Issue #1 for Lilly: The shoulder that has given him grief off and on since 2005. An MRI has revealed that the shoulder is inflamed but not torn, meaning rest should take care of it.
Issue #2: The knee that caused Lilly’s first post-All Star start to be pushed back. Since he’s going to be on the DL resting the shoulder anyway, Lilly and the team have decided he should have the knee scoped. That will happen on Monday. Like I said, three weeks is all he is expected to miss.
More proof that Ted Lilly is tougher than I could ever hope to be.
